ICAS assessment program

24/08/2012

This year, as a component of our extension programs for high achieving students, we entered several of our students in the ICAS Writing, Spelling, English and Mathematics section of the ICAS assessment program.

The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) are independent diagnostic assessments with a competition element and are commonly known as the University of New South Wales Writing/Spelling/English/Mathematics Competition.

Over one million student entries are accepted from over 6300 schools in Australia and New Zealand annually. In addition, students from over 20 countries including Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa and the USA participate in ICAS each year with recognition certificates being awarded for outstanding results in the form of Credit certificates. Distinction certificates and High Distinction certificates.

We have recently received our results back from the writing section of these tests as well as the result from the Spelling section and we are extremely proud to announce that two of our students obtained excellent results in both sections. A big congratulations to Timothy for achieving a Credit in both Spelling and Writing and also to Alex for achieving High Distinctions in both areas.
